What to expect

For your comfort, a topical numbing cream is applied prior to beginning your Clear + Brilliant treatment.

As the laser passes over your skin, you may feel some heat or a prickly sensation. Following treatment, you may experience some redness and heat initially and then a pink tone to your skin a few days, though it’s generally mild and easily concealable.

Your skin will feel a bit dry and slightly rough to the touch for three – seven days, as the treated skin cells slough off to reveal your fresh new look.

You may notice improvement within a few days following your treatment and the results become more evident after a week.

The fresh skin revealed by Clear + Brilliant will be more prone to sun damage. Using a sunscreen product with a minimum SPF 40 is strongly recommended for the week after your treatment, especially if you will be outdoors. And we recommend you always use a minimum SPF 40 to protect your skin from sun damage, even in the winter months – it reduces photo-aging of the skin and helps lower your risk of skin cancer.

As the results from the Clear + Brilliant laser are cumulative, it is recommended to book a series of five treatments spaced approximately two weeks apart. After the initial series, a treatment every three to six months helps maintain your glow.

For some clients with melasma, hyperpigmentation and sun spots, it may be recommended to use a skin lightening product like Vivier’s Seequin IDS in advance, and to book your Clear + Brilliant treatments every month. If indicated, our registered nurse will discuss this with you during your consultation.

Clear + Brilliant combination treatments

Clear + Brilliant may be purchased as a single treatment, a series of five, or in combination with other treatments for maximum impact.

Tight and Bright helps tighten and brighten skin by combining a Thermage treatment and Clear + Brilliant.

Clear + Brilliant + Intense Pulsed Light provides enhanced skin rejuvenation. Intense Pulsed Light uses optimized light to deliver energy into the skin, complementing the effects of Clear + Brilliant.

How it works

The Clear + Brilliant laser treatment has been nicknamed “baby fraxel”, as it is a fractional laser treatment but with less intensity. The laser penetrates the skin, heating sections to microscopically damage cells, which stimulates collagen production and generates fresh tissue growth.

The Clear + Brilliant laser doesn’t penetrate as extensively as our Fractional Laser Treatment, resulting in less recovery time. And because the Clear + Brilliant laser is absorbed by the water in your skin and not by the pigment, it’s safe to use on all skin types.
